From Muqueibila, Palestine we were flown for a short
tour in Cypress.
These were our barracks when we had them.

63. It was August 1942 and Cypress was
dry and extremely hot. Here we were introduced to earthen
jugs that sweat and thereby kept the water a little
cooler than otherwise. Any relief was welcome.

Ye Olde swimming hole – Cyprus.

On Cypress, a favorite pastime was swimming in the
ocean.
