At Mitchell Field we were shown our new aircraft. They
were painted pink desert camouflage. We then entrained
for Miami Beach, Florida. Here we are just after getting
off the train in Miami Beach.
Uncle Sam had taken over all the luxury hotels at Miami
Beach for an Officer’s training center.
We were temporarily bivouacked at this one.

From Miami Beach we were flown on DC-3’s via
Pan American World Airways to Natal, Brazil by way of
Port au Prince, Dutch Guiana, and Belem, Brazil.
